WHO'S WHO OF NURSING EDITORS
![]() |
Nick Lipley Managing Editor of Nursing Management and Emergency Nurse, both published by RCN Publishing, UK Prior Editor Position: Deputy News Editor, Nursing Standard Years as Editor: Since 2002 Accomplishment: Managing to publish a 40 page journal, every 10 working days, on limited resources always seems quite an achievement Best: Hearing from the display advertising team that a tip-off that you gave them has led to a £1,200 advertising windfall Worst: Hearing from the finance department that you have overspent the freelance budget (same amount as above) Amusing: Can’t think of one. We’re 2 hours away from closing an issue. 3 words: Diligent, reliable, considerate or— "He eats anything!" Strangest request: "Do what you like with my article." I never could figure out whether it revealed utter frustration or complete peace of mind. If not editor?: Trying to earn a living restoring and developing buildings and gardens. Relax?: Finding new places to see, meeting new people, reading, gardening, visiting churches and cemeteries, cycling and badminton. All fairly hum-drum stuff, I’m afraid. |
