WHO'S WHO OF NURSING EDITORS
![]() |
Louanne Lawson, PhD, RN, FAAN Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Forensic Nursing Years as Editor: Since 2005 Years in INANE: Since 2005 Other position: Associate Professor, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (July 2006) Accomplishment: Leading a well-functioning, cohesive editorial board and review panel. These people are truly amazing. They work very hard on editing, soliciting manuscripts, and marketing the Journal. Best: Reading the manuscripts. There are some truly gifted folks out there, conducting extremely important research. It’s an honor to see their stuff. Worst: Rejecting manuscripts. I’m still working at figuring out how to do that gracefully, truthfully and respectfully. Amusing: We have "the tiara," which is actually a beauty pageant tiara that gets passed around, depending on who is "queen for the day." The recognition that comes from being granted "the tiara" is the best source of amusement, motivation and support. Strangest request: Ask me again when I have done this longer than a year. If not editor?: Write more. Relax?: Yoga. I teach and practice with a phenomenally gifted, spiritual friend. I also hike, kayak, and hang out with lots of bright, interesting, talented people (including my grandchildren). |
