WHO'S WHO OF NURSING EDITORS

Back to Who's Who Index

Jan Odom-Forren, MS, RN, CPAN, FAAN
Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing

Co-editor, Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing, Start January 2001

Years as Editor: Since 2001

Years in INANE: Since 2001

Other Position: Perianesthesia consultant

Accomplishment: More Continuing Ed offerings

Best: Making a difference and having perianesthesia nurses thank me for helping to publish a journal they like to read and that is helpful with practice.

Worst: Deadlines for editorials

Amusing: I once followed up on an article for which I had sent an extensive revision request. The author told me that she would not do the revision, because then the article would not be hers, but the editors' (and it was a pretty terrible article!). It actually made it much easier for me not to have to deal with the article!

3 words: Tactful, considerate, persistent

Strangest request: One who wanted to publish without a conclusion.

If not editor?: I already wear too many hats.

Relax?: Read fiction/nonfiction/anything!!
